In 2007, A group of four Vermont teachers,
led by Patty Collins, volunteered a week at the newly inaugurated school of El Limón in the mountain village of La Libertad, El Salvador.
They exchange views and educational methods with the school’s five teachers and engaged the students in taking photographs of themselves, their school activities, as well as other aspects of their daily lives.
During their visit, the volunteers visited Suchitoto where they were able to relax, see some of the sights and learn about Casa Clementina’s plans for the future.
An expanded return visit is in the works.

Mentores en Acción
New York-based photographer, Michael Sibilia joined the mentoring program to teach and document the work of JOVENES and CINEMA DIGITAL.
His photographs of Suchitoto at night will be on exhibit at the Museum of Art in San Salvador (MARTE) April, 2010.

En el 2007, un grupo de cuatro maestros de Vermont (EUA), liderados por Patty Collins, trabajaron como voluntarios por una semana en la recién terminada escuela primaria El Limón en las montañas del departamento de La Libertad, El Salvador.
Durante su visita las maestras de Vermont intercambiaron sus conocimientos y metodología con las cinco maestras de la escuela de El Limón y les enseñaron a los estudiantes a tomar fotos de ellos mismos, sus actividades en la escuela y sus vidas cotidianas.
Durante su visita, los voluntarios visitaron a Suchitoto donde se relajaron, visitaron algunos lugares turísticos y se familiarizaron con los otros programas de Casa Clementina.
Su próxima visita esta siendo planeada.
El fotógrafo de Nueva York, Michael Sibilia se unió al programa de Mentores para enseñar y documentar el trabajo del los programas JOVENES y CINEMA DIGITAL.
Sus fotografías nocturnas de Suchitoto serán exhibidas en el Museo de Arte (MARTE) en San Salvador el próximo Abril, 2010.

Costa Rican performance artist, Elia Arce, joined the program Cinema Digital for the workshop/production of “El Torito Pinto” a collaborative film project created by filmmaker, Paula Heredia.
Elia Arce is an internationally known artist working in performance, theater, film, video, writing and installation. She is the recipient of the J. Paul Getty Individual Artist Award, grants from The Rockefeller Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts and was a 1999 nominee for the Herb Alpert/CalArts Award in Theater.
